Lighting Plan
If a room is naturally dark, tends to be used of an evening or
just deserves good lighting due to its function e.g. kitchen, it requires a lighting plan.
The basic principles and options are not technically difficult and reading up on the subject is recommended.
Some specialist books are featured in the adjacent column.
Having got a general idea of what you would like to
include revisit the room plan. Ignore all existing lighting/electrical installations and treating the room as a
blank canvas add in the following:
Functional lighting -
reading, writing, working etc
Aesthetic lighting - feature
lighting, wall washing, wall lamps, down lighters, uplighters and spots to name but a few.
Electrical Sockets - Free standing
lamps and sufficient sockets located next to electrical appliances.
By putting different lighting types on different circuits linked to
dimmers provides even more flexibility.
Once you have decided upon your plan Paint the Town Fred will be
pleased to arrange for a quotation.
